Prepare the facts
For a car, have the exact model, regular drivers, licence history, address, use and expected annual kilometres ready. For a home, gather the address, construction, roof, heating, renovations and previous claims. Answer accurately; if you do not know something, say so rather than guessing.
Ask for a written result
Tell each provider the same coverage limits and deductible you want. Ask what is included, what is optional, what is excluded, the annual total and when coverage can begin. Record the representative's name and request the quote in writing so you can compare it calmly.
An opening call script
You can say: “I am comparing car insurance for this exact model, with these drivers and this annual use. Please quote the same liability limit and damage deductibles, and email the full-year total and exclusions.” Adapt the facts honestly for your situation; a clear request makes quotes easier to compare.
